Many Walks

When I started this painting I had previously only done one human face and I must be honest, I am intimidated by the human figure.  I challenged myself to do as many imaginary profile faces (I like to over and under exaggerate their features) that I could fit onto a canvas.  It was fun to come up with all of the ideas, and truthfully some of them remind me of people that I know.  We are a world full of many different looking people, that's why this is titled, "Many Walks" which is a 16" X 40".  The lower pic is a close up for more detail.  (someday I am going to learn how to use the new camera my husband bought me and my photo's will hopefully be of a clearer, better quality) $475.

Tryptic Ribbon

This painting, titled "Tryptic Ribbon" was the first painting that I did using 3 canvas' that are hung in a row with a spacing of 1 inch or so.  When hung on the wall it was approx. 50" x 40". I enjoyed doing this black, white and gray piece with the  single circle of color in each panel.  I have thought of doing a similar painting or maybe a smaller series, who knows.  It just all comes down to what inspires me when I walk into my studio.  I have included a close up picture for you to see just how small my dots can get....

This is a 48" X 48".  I imagined that I was a tiny little bug in the grass looking up at the sky.  I see the sun glowing and there are dandy lion puff seeds floating around (the silver leaf circles) and it is a beautiful clear day and there are blades of grass all around me.  SOLD

Queen for a Day

This lovely lady is dreaming of being a "Queen for a day".   Don't we all wish for our day of pampering and indulgence.  This was my first attempt at doing a human figure (or face) and I wanted to go over the top.  On two sides, (spine) of the canvas in cursive I wrote.     If I'm Dreaming   Don't wake me up
This is acrylic on canvas with silverleaf crown

Patchwork Rain Forest

This doesn't have my dots or stitches but I Love it all the same.  This painting is a 48" x 60" and It hangs in my Kitchen/Livingroom.  It reminds me of the Pacific Northwest with the enormous rain drops that were done in Silverleaf.  Lots of color blocking and vines moving around on the canvas.

Color Me Bright

Flowers, Love them.... This is something that I did a while ago, an experiment using dots on the
background only and the flower stamen in the middle.  I like doing the painted stitches too, it takes me back to my quilting days.  I still sew, but I don't have much time to do that now that the painting bug has bit.  I have included a close up pic.  Oh, by the way this is a 20" X 60" and its available for $525. plus shipping     SOLD

Abandoned Line

This is a fictitious place, it's a river canyon on the Washington side near Klickitat and I am looking to the south towards Mt. Hood in the background on the Oregon side.  I imagine it is getting warm out, it's an early summer day,  there is still green vegetation on the hillside and by mid summer all of the weeds and grasses will have dried up.  This trail could be used by deer or even range cows. Available for $850. plus shipping

Remote Vista

At first glance you might not think of these colorful mounds as a mountain range, they are
very vibrant and not the normal brown and green tones that you are probably use to.  If you haven't
guessed it already, I love lots of color.  In fact, I haven't met a color I didn't like. This is my
interpretation of Mountains along the Columbia River, and a close up picture for more detail. The dimensions are 24"  X 48".    SOLD

Where Old Meets New

This painting was done to show the old landscapes of the river gorge, and the new technology of the
huge wind mill turbines that have been showing up all around the eastern part of the area where I live.  In a way I understand why they are coming to this area, mainly the wind that funnels down the gorge and has the potential to create energy for our modern lives.  In another way It is sad to see less natural landscapes and the hills will be forever changed by this "new" look. As an artist I am just painting and
recording what I see, nothing more.  Thus, My title:  "Where old meets new" available for $600.
