Volatus Aerius (Latin, flying up in the air)

This was my 2nd dot painting that I had ever done.  It took me about 6 weeks of time because I would go back and change things that were finished.  I learned more about the application process with this airplane painting.  I can't paint the traditional way where you stand your canvas up (this was a 48 " X 60") and lean it against the wall. My paint will run and drip so I have to lay the canvas on a table and paint with it flat.  There is lots of drying in between coats.  I've included a close up pic for you to see more detail.   SOLD

Blue Vase

This painting is a bit more free flowing, but in my controlled style.  this was fun to do and I love the cool colors everywhere except the warm colors of the butterfly.  One pic is full view and the other gives you a closer look at detail.  SOLD

Who, Who

This painting is a nocturnal scene,  I imagined owls peering at me in the darkness and all that were visible were their large eyes.  The tree is colorful on the moon side and dark greys and browns on the shadowed side. The farther that you move away from the moon the darker the blue sky becomes until

it is nearly black, but not quite.  This painting lives in Montana now.  Very much enjoyed painting this.   SOLD

Two Lines In

My very first dot painting, an exploration into my style.  This is what got me intrigued and I have just continued in that same vain.  This painting is owned by my wonderful Aunt and Uncle in Tacoma and when I visit them, I get to look at it again and smile.  It's a 4 ft. by 5 ft.   SOLD

As promised, here's another one to check out. It's a 36" X 48" and is available for $650. plus shipping.  SOLD

"All Tied Up"

Overcast skies make for taking great photo's outdoors of my artwork. I thought I would post a couple other pics of work. This is a abstract view of men's shirts and ties lined up.  It reminds me of the beautiful displays in the department stores, that was my inspiration.  This is a 48" X 60" and is available for $3000. plus shipping.

Rooster

It's a brand new day! another opportunity for expression.  I am preparing for the Gorge Artist studio tour here in April, but there will be a month long (March) preview show at the Pines wine bar and gallery in Hood River, Or.  and I am a participating artist.  I get to pick five paintings to have hung there and then at the end of march I will bring them back to the studio and hang them here in preparation for
the Artist Tour which is April 13, 14, & 15th.  Hope you enjoy this pic.   SOLD

Joyride

Morning, today I am going to post a picture of one of my favorite pieces that I have painted.  Sometimes my inspiration comes to me quickly and other times I struggle with what I would like to paint.  It would be so much easier if I were a realist or even a plein aire landscape painter, then I would just paint what a saw or what was in the photograph.  My lack of imagination some days is my own worst enemy.  Hope you enjoy the painting.  Until next time......  SOLD

"FISH"

hi my name is judith i just started this blog on my art. i have had my painting strung throughout the gorge in gallery's along the columbia river. i am new to technology but i do like the idea of sharing my passion. i sometimes am busy with other things in my life but when that quiets down i am able to sit down and paint. i have many different subjects in my canvas's, but they are all the same style, which i have perfected as my own technique. i do dots. lots of them. sizes and colors. i'm fascinated with them. i can't wait to hear what you all have to say. this is another way to see where my strengths are. and i like playing to them. hope you all enjoy   what i put out in front of you.     SOLD
